Embracing God's purpose for my special brother :))

Hi :)) the picture you are looking now at the right side of your screen is my little brother :)) He was named Matthew Arvie D. Villanueva, As of now, he was already 7months. He is so cute and malambing :)) So kulit and he always moves his feet up and down, like doing bicycling haha! He was a sweet brother, he doesn't cry that much. He was just playing and looking around :))

One day, he had a check up in Chinese General Hospital in Manila. There we knew the diagnosis of my little new born brother. I was shocked and in denial. But doctors were certain. My mother had a chill that ran through her veins. His physical features is not pointed on it. We knew it because of his chromosomes. He has 47chromosomes wherein we should only have 46 chromosomes. His chromosomes pointed to one conclusion down syndrome.

We couldn't find answers to the bogger questions tormented us.

Why? Why would God give a son to my mother and brother to me with medical problems? How severely handicapped will he be? How could we possible take care of him? Why did God create my brother, the son of my mom and dad with Down Syndrome? Why did he allow this to happen?

I am not writing to boast about my brother's looks and medical problem or how great he has turned out to be.

"What is impossible with men is possible to God." Luke 18:27

"My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." 2Corinthians 12:9

I believe it is not an accident that you were reading this blog. Like you, we once searched our answers about our role as a sister a mother and a father and my brother's purpose in life. It is our heart's desire to help you see your child as a blessing. It is my prayer that every parent with a special child will see him or her as a gift from God. I believe that it is indeed a privilege to be chosen by Him to care a handicapped brother.

This BLOG was not written to lift up our special children, insisting that society should accept them. God did not, I believe, create special children for the world at large, but He did not create each child specifically for his purpose. So this story, this blog, is not about Matthew Arvie ant the other children whose stories you will find here , nor is it about your own special child, nor is it about those of us who contribute to this story as a sister and parents. I pray that the focus of this blog might be on God and His purposes in the lives of parents sisters and brothers with their special child/children.

If our brother, sister or your children are called special, then doesn't that make us special parents? sister? borther? Definitely! I feel unique, because my brother himself is unique. :))

THE LORD IS PERFECT AND NEVER MAKES MISTAKES. He created our children, sister or brother to be out of the ordinary, and designed each one the way he or she is for His own purpose.
